Describe the edit. ContentLead does the work.
Use plain language to cut clips, add captions, apply styles, generate scenes and render finished videos — by pointing your favorite terminal AI agent at ContentLead Desktop.
Set up in a few steps
Install the ContentLead skill into your terminal AI agent and it drives the whole editor for you — you watch the edits land on the timeline.
See it in actionBrowser-only AI chats can't control your local editor. Your agent must run on this computer and read local skill files — like Copilot CLI, Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Cursor or Windsurf.
- Copy the command for your agent from the tabs below.
- Install just cl-editor, or the whole skill collection.
- Verify with: "What ContentLead skills do you have access to?"

Verify the connection
Connect to my ContentLead Desktop editor and tell me what's currently on the timeline — tracks, clips and canvas size. Don't change anything.
Nothing changes — a good reply lists your tracks, clips and canvas size.
Make your first edit
Create a snapshot called 'Before AI test'. Then add a bold white title that says 'Hello from AI' from 0 to 3 seconds, centered near the top of the canvas. Show me a preview frame before rendering.
Snapshot → add a title → preview. Undo with Cmd/Ctrl+Z anytime.

Split the selected clip at the playhead and delete the first half.
Remove every silent gap longer than 400ms in the voiceover track.
Shift every clip after the 10-second mark forward by 2 seconds.
What the AI can do
Safety, undo & rendering
Local & private
The desktop editing bridge is bound to your own machine and closes when you quit the app. It isn't exposed to the internet.
You review the agent
Your terminal agent runs commands on your computer. Review the permissions and privacy terms of whichever agent you choose.
Undo & snapshots
Most edits undo with Cmd/Ctrl+Z (batches roll back as one step). Take a named snapshot before bulk operations. Undo history is session-level.
Autosave & render
Work autosaves — to the cloud on the web, and locally in the desktop app. Render locally to MP4 or in the cloud for long timelines.
